  Oats are a tasty grain suitable for all animal species. Oat protein has a good amino acid profile, including high lysine content. The fat content is high, and oats also have a beneficial fiber composition that can have a positive effect on gut health, especially in young animals.
  
  Oats are one of the common grains with the lowest starch content. Combined with a high fiber content, it provides a gentle raw material but with lower energy content compared to, for example, barley and wheat. Often, it is oat's low energy concentration that limits its use for high-producing animals. When feeding with individual raw materials, the feed must be supplemented with extra vitamins and minerals, regardless of animal species. Sometimes additional protein is also needed.
