  Feed in the form of muesli is perceived as extra palatable and makes the calf start eating more, and above all, earlier. Both this and a higher growth rate are confirmed by our customers as well as in trials. Primo Muesli has an extra high protein level that benefits the calf's growth, udder development, and future production. From an economic point of view, it is optimal to switch to Primo CalfStart at about four weeks of age. Betaine, which prevents fluid loss and reduces the incidence of diarrhea, is included, and all vitamin E is presented in its natural form.

  The cereal part consists mainly of steam-cooked cereals with high digestibility. The protein comes mainly from soy flour and potato protein, both of which have excellent digestibility and amino acid composition for the young calf.

  Trials with calves have shown that when young calves are given a choice, they eat around 5% roughage and the rest is starter feed, in addition to calf milk. In the trial, different types of roughage were compared, and it was observed that by offering the calves straw, both their growth and consumption of starter feed increased. We have therefore chosen to include a small but very important portion of chopped straw in Primo Muesli.
